Introducing - The Stratford - a 42-storey skyscraper designed by visionary developer Harry Handelsman and located in the Olympic Park is now open! We take a look inside this giant project to see the swanky new reasons to head so far East...

This has been a ten year labour of love for Harry and after three decades of pioneering new districts, this is his biggest project to date. The building combines The Stratford Hotel and Lofts, offering a mix of short and long-term stays together with three sky gardens, a world-class brasserie, a private club and a destination restaurant, Allegra - all with interiors designed by Space Copenhagagen, the team behind NOMA and 11 Howard in New York, don't ya know.

The Stratford hotel and lofts look set to signal a new era of hotel living in the capital, uniting short-term hotel guests and long-term Londoners under one roof. Inspired by the timeless glamour and communal spirit of 1950s New York’s legendary long-stay hotels.

Occupying the first six floors is The Stratford, a 145-room luxury hotel with interiors that boast natural timbers, warm metals and stone-clad bathrooms fuse cutting-edge style with old-world opulence to provide supreme comfort throughout.

An all-day bar and restaurant, unlike anything else in the area. The open bar and kitchen runs under the creative direction of Ben Harrington, formerly of Soho House Group and Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's. Ben’s menu will centre on light sharing dishes using seasonal British ingredients.

Located on The Stratford’s ground floor with a spectacular triple-height lobby and ten-metre high fireplace, The Stratford Brasserie has a casual yet elegant vibe which extends from breakfast through to late night drinks. Interiors feature softly padded leather chairs and statement wooden benches and tables. There's also an outdoor seating area, which is heated and sheltered by a lush pergola, alongside an outdoor bar, fireplace and pizza oven.

ALLEGRA (Opening August 2019)
Located on the 7th floor, Allegra, will celebrate exuberant hospitality and inventive, seasonal cooking by Patrick Powell, former Head Chef of Chiltern Firehouse.

Allegra will be accessed via The Stratford hotel lobby through a private lift, where you'll be welcomed by a stunning bar to enjoy cocktails, snacks, oysters or a selection of charcuterie from their in-house curing room. The dining space will feature fresh, mild tones of green and warm, broken grey, illuminated by the floor to ceiling windows and framed by a natural stone Monteplier floor. Bespoke booth seating will overlook an open kitchen, and tableware and crockery has been sourced from local craftsmen and makers. A private dining space will also be available.

Patrick’s cooking invites you to celebrate food and drink, from long lunches through to late night dinners. His emphasis on the provenance of his produce has led Harry to acquire land at Full Circle Farm in Kent, which will supply much of the restaurant’s ingredients.
