DrinkUp.London was designed to be a platform which supports London's wonderful hospitality scene - through our bar guide and events platform, as well as through our drinks festivals - which over the years have injected millions of pounds directly into the London's nightlife economy.
In this unprecedented time, it is with a heavy heart that we have to cancel our forthcoming events and festivals - most pressingly - London Wine Week, Champagne Cocktail Weekend and Cognac Cocktail Weekend. These cancellations also extend to The Cocktail Experiments. Everyone who has bought tickets to these events has already been contacted and fully refunded – so if you have not heard from us, please do get in touch [email protected].
Our biggest event - London Cocktail Week - is due to take place across the capital in October, and for now we are working on the basis that the country will have this situation under control and the biggest celebration of cocktail culture can continue as planned. However, we will of course be keeping a close eye on the situation, and if the government determines that we have to change the dates – we will. When we’re through this terrible time and the bars start to reopen – we know that the hospitality community is going to need London Cocktail Week more than ever - so please know - London Cocktail Week will still go ahead.
During lockdown, we wanted to continue to use our platform to support our industry, and so we dedicated DrinkUp.London to showcasing ways you can engage with bars from the comfort of your own homes. And we will continue to do this - whether this be through highlighting drinks delivery or voucher schemes, or listing virtual drinks events taking place. For those of you looking for a little escapism from the news, or if you want to look ahead and plan bar visits for when everything is back on track… our magazine page is still the place to find drinks features and bar collections and even travel ideas.
As of 4th July, bars will be slowly welcoming us all back. If you feel comfortable enough to venture out, those that are opening are going to really appreciate your support, so we'll try to keep you up to date with the latest news!
Needless to say - some are still sadly unable to do so under distancing guidelines and one thing some key players in the industry are still fighting for that might help is a #NationalTimeOut which you can read about HERE.
Wherever you are, and whichever side of the stick… please stay well and know that we support you.
