Experiment with Cocktails At Home

If you haven't had the pleasure of attending one of our Cocktail Experiment masterclasses these are some of our easy-to-follow recipes for classic cocktails to get you on your way...

ESPRESSO MARTINI
undefined
50ml preferred spirit (originally Vodka)
25ml Coffee Liqueur
25ml fresh espresso
Dash of sugar to taste

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker
Shake hard and double-strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupette
Garnish with three coffee beans

INSIDER TIP : Use super strong espresso, the stronger the better.

OLD FASHIONED
undefined
60ml preferred dark spirit (originally bourbon or rye)
10ml sugar syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass
Stir the liquid for at least 3 minutes. (This doesn’t have to be constant stirring but the liquid needs enough time with the ice to reduce the temperature).
Strain the liquid into the ice-filled glass.
Garnish with an orange twist.

INSIDER TIP : Be adventurous with all aspects, not just the Spirit. Orange Bitters and Agave Syrup go really well with Tequila. 10mls of clear apple juice with the Rum will make you a Treacle.

DAIQUIRI
undefined
60ml light or dark rum
20ml fresh lime juice
20ml sugar syrup

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker
Shake hard and strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupette
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge

INSIDER TIP : There’s a great debate among bartenders about whether you should fine strain your Daiquiri. We vote yes! Who wants ice chips?

NEGRONI
undefined
30ml Gin
30ml Vermouth
30ml Campari

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Stir down, adding more ice as necessary.
Garnish with an orange slice or twist

INSIDER TIP : Fancy something a little lighter? Switch the gin with sparkling wine to make a Negroni Sbagliato.

MARGARITA
undefined
60ml 100% agave tequila
25ml Cointreau
20ml fresh lime juice

Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
Shake hard and strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupette.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge.

INSIDER TIP : Whether you prefer your Margarita served straight up or on the rocks, with or without a salt rim – there’s no right or wrong way – so get experimenting!

PORN STAR MARTINI
undefined
40ml Passoã passionfruit liqueur
40ml vodka
10ml vanilla syrup
10ml fresh lime juice
Pulp of half a passion fruit
Pair with a shot of Prosecco

Pour all ingredients (except the Prosecco) into a shaker filled with ice and shake hard.
Double strain (to filter the passionfruit seeds) into a chilled Martini glass or coupette.
Float the second half of the passionfruit in the drink and serve with a shot of Prosecco on the side.

INSIDER TIP : Why not treat yourself and your guests and upgrade your side shot to Champagne!? And if you’re feeling extra adventurous – it’s totally up to you whether you sip the bubbles or add them to the Martini once you’ve taken a big sip!

MARTINI
undefined75ml preferred spirit (originally Gin)
15ml dry vermouth

Pour both ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass.
Stir the liquid for at least a minute. (This doesn’t have to be constant stirring but the liquid needs enough time with the ice to reduce the temperature).
Strain the liquid into a chilled Martini glass or coupette.
Garnish with a lemon twist or an olive – depending on your preference.

INSIDER TIP : There’s simply no wrong way to mix a Martini. The above recipe is for a classic dry Martini but if you’re looking for something a bit wetter – a 60ml / 30ml ratio works great. We actually love 50/50’s which means the drink is a lower ABV meaning you can maybe enjoy an extra one.
