About

Gelston’s Old Irish Whiskey is inviting guests to get into the spirit of St Patrick’s Day at The Bloomsbury Club Bar with the launch of an exclusive, one-night only, scratch-card-style cocktail menu.

Guests will select their cocktails of choice from the specially designed menu and discover the individual price by scratching off a silver circle next to each drink. Discounts will range from 0 to 100% - meaning some lucky guests will receive their chosen cocktail for free! The main prize available on the night will include the chance to win an overnight stay at The Bloomsbury hotel, part of The Doyle Collection, which is housed in a stunning 1930’s listed neo-Georgian building in London’s literary heartland.

Four Gelston’s Old Irish Whiskey cocktails will be on offer featuring Gelston’s 5 year single malt, 10 year single malt and Gelston’s Bourbon cask finish, a three year single malt. All cocktails will be priced at £14 without the scratch card discount.

Chris Dennis, Gelston’s Old Irish Whiskey Global Brand Ambassador and cocktail connoisseur will be overseeing proceedings as he guest bartends at The Bloomsbury Club Bar from 8pm-11pm. Patrons are invited to witness his mastery of the shaker and pick up mixology tips from the best while enjoying live music from international musicians The Cash Cows, who are performing throughout the evening.

The Gelston’s range, owned by HJ Neill Ltd is matured on the Irish coast in ex-bourbon casks then finished in either sherry, port or rum casks to give a distinctive taste.

Johnny Neill, owner HJ Neill Ltd, is a direct descendant of Harry Neill who bought the business from Samuel Gelston in 1869. Johnny said: “We’re really looking forward to St Patrick’s Day this year at The Bloomsbury Club Hotel. Like The Bloomsbury, which is steeped in over a century’s worth of heritage and celebrates its literary and artistic influences, so too does Gelston’s enjoy honouring its 190+ years of history and Irish provenance.

“In my opinion there is no better way to toast St Patrick’s Day than enjoying a world-class Irish whiskey, and with a chance of doing so for free at The Bloomsbury Club Bar, mixed by a seasoned mixologist to fantastic music, all that’s left to say to that is ‘Sláinte!’”
