Most photography exhibitions feature a carefully curated set of images to be contemplated and admired by reverent visitors at their leisure. But a new photography show opening in London’s Soho next week will turn this notion completely on its head - by being completely live. Part performance, part cultural reportage, part photo challenge, The Sexton ‘Own The Night’ Live Photography Exhibition will invite visitors to witness the events of a single evening unfolding in multiple cities, in real time, before their very eyes.
Six photographers will be roaming the streets in various UK locations, taking pictures throughout the evening before sending them to be displayed on digital screens in the London gallery moments later - a truly instantaneous experience for an instant-driven society.
Complimentary activities at the gallery will include a selection of Sexton cocktails to tie in with the event, and the opportunity to visit The Darkroom - a sensory whiskey experience inspired by the darkrooms used to develop print photographs. Here, with their vision dimmed by the low lights, visitors’ other senses will be heightened allowing them to appreciate new levels of flavour brought to life by the sounds, scents and of course taste of The Sexton.
Visitors who’d like to attend can register for free tickets, which will include two complimentary cocktails at the gallery bar. To register for tickets, please email [email protected] with the subject RSVP.
