With a unique Try-Before-You-Buy opportunity, 19 Crimes will be taking over the Garden Bar with two of their bold Australian wines, 19 Crimes CHARD and 19 Crimes Red Wine - available by the glass or bottle.
19 Crimes tells the stories of the nineteen crimes that turned criminals into colonists in the 1700s. Upon conviction British rogues guilty of a least one of these crimes were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death. This punishment by "transportation" began in 1783 and many of the lawless died at sea. For the rough-hewn prisoners who made it to shore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a frontier penal colony, they forged a new country and new lives, brick by brick. This wine honours the history they wrote and the culture they built.
Not only will there be the chance to try the wines before you buy, you will be able to discover the stories behind them using Augmented Reality. Through the Living Wine Labels App, you can watch the labels come to life and tell true stories of the men and women on the bottles.
The CHARD features Jane Castings and is a bold expression of Chardonnay, rich with honey and peach flavours. The Red Wine, featuring John O’Reilly, is an easy-drinking red wine blend, with ripe fruit flavours.
19 Crimes are popping up at the London Wine Week Hub, Flat Iron Square - a glorious collection of al fresco wine bars in the heart of London Bridge. Entry is completely free but make sure you download your FREE Festival Pass via the DrinkUp.London app for special London Wine Week offers.
