Sitting proudly atop Borough Market since 2005, Roast restaurant is now infamous for serving up some of the best British dishes in the capital. It is also home to one of the most extensive wine lists in London, with a whopping 26% of white wine served in the restaurant coming from England. So, where better to celebrate English Wine Week this year?
With English wine now hot on the heels of some of the world’s finest makers, Roast has decided to inject a little healthy competition into the English Wine Week celebrations, with a consumer event running on Tuesday 29th May.
Guests will be invited to enter as a team and will be treated to a selection of small plates each paired with both an English and foreign wine and asked to identify the homegrown tipple for a chance to win a prize. With competition from Italy, France and Portugal, to name a few, the evening is bound to bring out the connoisseur in even the most amateur of wine tasters.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or struggle to tell your Chapel Down from your Châteauneuf du Pape, the events are open to all and will showcase the very best of what England has to offer.
